Sierra Leone (Continued)

April 2023: From March 2023, LAT° have been supporting a mine with their operations in West Africa. It is a well established mine that has a long history with real ambition to be the continents leading iron ore producer and exporter.

LAT° have been brought on to assist the mine with exploration drilling. Although this is meant to be in a project management role, we are still assisting the mine and contractors with geospatial support.

The mine's security team are all ex-military, so naturally LAT° have made those connections and provided the team with Op Herrick-style compound maps that assist with their patrol planning and reporting. Further assistance to geologists has also been provided and well received by the teams.

The project has not been straight forward so far with a lot of hurdles to overcome in terms of logistics and support, however with the mines cooperation, these supply chain issues are expected to improve thus improving efficiency to the project.
