Last Friday, our Founder visited a local school and presented a compelling presentation to the Year 6’s who are in the process of understanding careers and prospects beyond school life.

The presentation covered his career so far, why Geography is a great subject to study, which then led to the ins and outs of spatial data collection via land surveys, using drones, and satellite imagery, and also how GIS is used to interpret and analyse these data.

The children were really engaged and liked that the career opportunities led our Founder to be able to travel the world and experience different cultures, sights, and experiences. We originally planned the presentation to last around 30 minutes, but with all the fascinating questions the children had it lasted an hour and half!

The most rewarding part of this is being able to influence the next generation of geographers and to get children thinking about their careers at such an early stage can only benefit them.
